What You Need To Know Before Booking A Campground Cabin For Rent

Posted on: 7 August 2017

Campgrounds offer much more than spaces for tents and recreational vehicles. Most have cabins for rent so individuals, couples, and families who prefer a little more comfort can still take an affordable vacation. Of course, there are a few things you'll need to be aware of, as well as a few questions you'll want to ask before making a reservation.

Does the Cabin Have Indoor Plumbing?

Vacation cabin rentals found in a campground setting don't always have indoor plumbing, so it is important to ask before making a reservation. Instead, these facilities typically have community bathhouses for their guests. If you're traveling with someone who uses the restroom frequently, you'll want to request a cabin that has its own bathroom.

Are Linens Included?

One reason campground cabins for rent are so affordable is that they don't come with a lot of extras. They are equipped with furnishings, however, renters are responsible for packing all the linens, kitchen cookware, and eating utensils.

Is There Electric in the Cabin?

Another feature many cabins within a campground setting lack is electric. This means teenage girls won't be able to use their hair dryers and curling irons without taking a walk to the community bathroom. Cell phones and tablets would need to be charged using a car charger, should you not wish to make your vacation electronic-free one.

Are There Any Outdoor Features That Come With the Cabin Rental?

Check to see if the cabin rental comes with any outdoor features. It is common for this type of lodging to include either a barbecue grill so you can cook your own meals or a fire pit for making S'mores in the evening. In some cases, you may get lucky with a porch swing or a set of rocking chairs. Another common staple is a picnic table, where the entire family can gather to dine or play games.

What Are the Community Campground Amenities?

One of the perks of choosing a campground cabin instead of a remote cabin in the woods is the community campground activities. Talk to the reservation specialist to discover whether the facility is equipped with a swimming pool, lake, or both. Ask if fishing is permitted so you know whether to bring your fishing gear. The campground may also have such amenities as canoes or paddle boats for rent, a mini-golf course, and a rec room with pool tables and arcade games.

Finding Better Places To Travel

After a few lackluster family vacations, I decided that I needed to do a better job of planning. I was tired of watching my family drudge through boring tourist destinations. To up my game, I started reading a lot more about different travel spots, and I eventually found an incredible place to go. We settled on the Bahamas, and it was truly the best experience of my life. We were able to kick back, relax, and really enjoy some down-time away from work. Our kids had an excellent time. This blog is all about planning your next vacation and improving your travel experience.
